’73 grad tackles big issues for Sloan Foundation
Under the leadership of Kathleen Christensen, the Workplace, Work Force and Working Families program of the Sloan Foundation has played a vital role in developing work-family scholarship and in supporting workplaces that meet the needs of working parents and older workers.
Christensen has published extensively on the changing nature of work and its relationship to the family. She also is a consultant and adviser to federal and state committees on work-family issues. When she returned to campus in spring 2007 to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, she said she was pleased how her alma mater had become such a vital part of the community.
