19. Pamperin Park

Duck Creek.

Duck Creek

General Description

Pamperin Park covers 92 acres on both sides of Duck Creek just south of Highway 29. Open lawn and playground/picnic facilities cover much of the park, but quieter hiking trails traverse the west side of the creek. The creek is a popular fishing area and is used by area schools for biology and ecology field trips. Several small wetlands occur ing the park, providing a good variety of habitats for birdwatching and nature study.

Facilities

In addition to excellent playground facilities and picnic areas, the park includes a year-round pavilion with 2 halls that are available for rent. A bridge crosses Duck Creek and leads to trails between the water and a forested slope.
