Wisconsin Society for Ornithology -  This organization was developed to emphasize all the enjoyment aspects of birding and to support the research and habitat protection necessary to preserve Wisconsin birdlife.  This website is a great reference for birders and includes the Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas and several opportunities to become involved in bird research.

Point au Sauble Bird Species List - A list of the birds that have been observed at the UW Green Bays research site on Green Bay.

Bird Checklists of the United States - USGS website containing checklists for every state.  Includes form to report rare species.

Wisconsin Bird Clubs - Website with list of bird clubs across Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Birding Hotspots - Provides information on the best birding areas including site descriptions, phone numbers, and hours.

Wings of the Americas - A US Forest Service to conserve all birds.

Zoological Record, Internet Resource Guide for Zoology - Website containing hundreds of links dealing with every aspect of ornithology and the orders of birds.

Birds: A Virtual Exhibit - A Website of Canadian birds produced by 5 Canadian museums, including egg webpages.

Rare Birds - Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources current rare bird list.

Endangered and Threatened Bird Species - Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources web site. Lists of current threatened and endangered species in Wisconsin; including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish.

American Ornithologists' Union - The oldest and largest organization in the New World devoted to the scientific study of birds.  Although the AOU primarily is a professional organization, its membership of about 4,000 includes many amateurs dedicated to the advancement of ornithological science.  The main publication of the AOU, The Auk, can be found on this site as well as current postings of ornithological job opportunities.
