The NAS Heirloom Plant Sale

All plants $1.50 each

16 May 2009 at 9:00 at the LS Greenhouse

This year's sale is just around the corner. Click on the links at left to find descriptions of the varieties for sale this year. We will have over 50 varieties of tomatoes, 40 varieties of peppers, 3 varieties of eggplants, 1 tomatillo, 3 kinds of basil, cilantro, 2 cucumbers, a variety of lettuces, and 6 unique flowers.

The doors open at 9 am sharp, but we begin handing out numbers at 8 in the morning or earlier and people start lining up at 7--some people get there even earlier! We always have a good selection of tomatoes for even the latest arrivals,

peppersAll of our plants are heirloom varieties and of these we mostly carry unusual varieties you ar unlikely to find elsewhere. We do have some old favorites like Brandywine tomatoes, but we encourage you to try some of our locally developed varieties like Beaver Dam or WI Lakes peppers.

Our plants are high quality and are inexpensive. Compare to Totally Tomatoes, Burpee, and Seed Savers, who sell transplants in similar sized pots for $3.00 to $5.00each plus shipping.

Click on the variety to go to the seed sellers description and photo of this variety. Plants marked with * are in short supply due to poor germination

Plant List coming soon. We wait to list the varieties until after we transplant in mid April.

But we hope to have 2500 peppers, including hots, mediums, milds and bells. We will have at least 4500 tomatoes of all sorts and colors. Note--this year we will NOT be selling 4th of July. We are expanding our cucumber, eggplant, and lettuce selection. We will have 3 or 4 types of flowers including sunflowers. The herb list includes 4 kinds of basil, borage, stevia, and hyssop. A new addition for the sale this year is broccoli, cauliflower, and ground cherries.
