
Miscellaneous Computer Related Items
Computing and Information Technology stocks various computer add-ons and can purchase others as needed. Working through CIT is often recommended to ensure you get the proper item that will work with your computer and external devices. Departments are responsible for the cost of any add-ons. Any of the items listed below can be requested by submitting a work order to the CIT Help Desk (helpdesk@uwgb.edu or by calling extension 2309) for the desired items along with the funding codes to be used for the chargeback. The most common requests are listed below.

Memory Upgrades: Memory upgrades to campus workstations must be handled through the CIT Repair area. The price for such upgrades varies depending on the type of computer and the amount of memory being added.
Cables: CIT stocks some cables in addition to the ones listed above such as parallel, USB, monitor, and serial cables Cables that are not stocked can be ordered and charged back to departments.
Video, SCSI, Serial, or Parallel Cards: Due to the unique configuration and requirements of University workstations, any add-in cards such as video, serial, or parallel cards must be handled through CIT Repair.
Media: Media such as floppy disks, zip disks, USB flash drives, and CD/DVD’s can be obtained via the office supply contracts available to University departments. These purchases do not go through CIT.
Miscellaneous: Other miscellaneous computer add-ons such as external hard drives, printer switches, or video adapters may not be stocked by CIT. CIT is willing to provide recommendations on manufacturers, models, and sources for these items. Please put in a work order through the CIT Help Desk (extension 2309) if you would like help in obtaining other computer items.
