The UW-Green Bay computer help desk is a service of the Computing & Information Technology (CIT) User Support team. The help desk takes phone calls, e-mail questions and walk-ins from staff, faculty and students who are experiencing software or hardware problems. Help desk staff also provide on-site service calls to resolve problems as needed.

CIT asks that all calls be directed to the help desk at 465-2309 rather than to a particular individual. This allows us to more effectively respond to and track technical problems and their resolutions. The help desk uses MAGIC call tracking software to record and manage all service calls and maintain an inventory of campus computers.

The help desk is normally in operation from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The help desk number (465-2309) services three lines. If all help desk lines are busy, your call will be transferred to voice mail. You may also call after hours and leave a voice mail message. We will contact you the next business day. In addition, you can send e-mail to "helpdesk@uwgb.edu" or use Magic Self Service. When submitting an issue, please provide a brief description of the problem (including any error messages) and a number where you can be reached.

CIT offers full support for the primary applications UW-Green Bay has licensed. We are prepared to research and answer any type of question or problem pertaining to the supported applications:

  • Windows XP
  • Macintosh OS 10.5 Leopard
  • Microsoft Word 2007 & 2008
  • Microsoft Excel 2007 & 2008
  • MS PowerPoint 2007 & 2008

  • Expression Web
  • Outlook Email and Calendar
