UW-Green Bay Student Employment is hosting the fourth annual Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) competition in 2009.

SEOTY is a national competition, sponsored by the National Student Employment Association, which begins at the local campus level. Supervisors are invited to nominate outstanding student employees. A Campus nominee is selected from a pool of nominations submitted by those supervisors, based on the following guidelines:
    Eligible Students
    Undergraduate students employed on campus, and graduate students who are on student employee payroll, and who are performing student employee jobs (not Resident Advisors, Graduate Assistants, or Teaching Assistants) are eligible.

    Eligible Terms of Employment
    Students must have been employed for a minimum of three months full-time or six months part-time between June 1, 2008 and May 31, 2009 (anticipated). Nomination forms and letters must be received by the Student Employment office by February 16, 2009.

    Selection Criteria
    Students will be evaluated by a campus team of judges on the following qualities:
    1. Reliability
    2. Quality of Work
    3. Initiative
    4. Professionalism
    5. Uniqueness of Contribution

    Selections
    Each institution may submit ONE name for competition at the state level. Please note: only one nomination letter will be considered for each nominee.  Submit a separate form for each nominee.  Judging will take place during the week of February 18. UW-Green Bay campus will submit the top nominee to the State competition by March 2. The State winner will be selected, and submitted to the Regional competition on March 12, 2009.  A regional winner will be selected and submitted to the National competition on March 18, 2009. The National winner is selected and announced prior to Student Employment Week, April 12 - 18, 2009.
Awards
  • All UW-Green Bay nominees will receive a recognition letter, as well as a certificate at the ceremony. All Student Employees will be honored with various events during the week of April 13 - 17, 2009 - List of events (2009 Event List / Word).
  • UW-Green Bay winner will receive a plaque, and recognition at a ceremony on April 16, 2009.
  • Each campus winner will receive a certificate and congratulatory letter from MASEA.
  • The state winners will receive a certificate and check for $75.00.
  • The MASEA regional winner will receive a plaque and a check for $150.00.
  • The MASEA winner will be submitted for the NSEA Student Employee of the Year Program. The NSEA winner received a cash award of $1000! The NSEA President or designee will visit the winners campus to present the award.
