Responsibilities include: A Resident Assistant (RA) is an undergraduate student who has been selected and trained by the Office of Residence Life as a paraprofessional staff member. RAs live in the residence halls and apartments serving as a community facilitator, referral agent, peer advisor, and programmer. In addition, RAs uphold University and Residence Life policies, and help maintain a living environment conducive to sleep and study.

Requirements: Minimum requirements are a 2.40 cumulative and semester GPA, sophomore standing by the fall semester prior to applying, two semesters previous on campus living, and no academic or disciplinary probation.

How to apply: To apply, pick up an application at the Community Center/Office of Residence Life at any time! The application and three recommendation forms can be returned to the Community Center. If you have any questions or would like more information, call 465-2040 or talk with your RA.

Office/Mailroom Assistant Positions

The Office and Mailroom Assistant (Office Assistant) position serves Residence Life and the approximately 2000 students it serves by providing administrative, clerical, and customer service support to the business operation which serves students, parents, summer guests, vendors, and visitors to the University.

Desk Services Manager Positions

The Desk and Mailroom Services Manager positions provide supervision and leadership to the front desk and mailroom including working approximately 10 scheduled hours and serving in an on-call capacity on a rotating basis in the evening and on weekends (approximately 10 additional hours) for an average of 20 hours per week.

The Office of Residence Life employs about 15 students for facilities custodial and maintenance during the academic year and more than 30 students in the summer months. The starting pay is $8.00 per hour with a maximum of 20 per week (academic year) between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (Monday-Friday) and up to 40 hours per week in the summer months. 

Duties:

Most student employees will be assigned to cleaning duties in residence halls and new apartments.  Some positions are available on the facilities maintenance and painting staff.

Requirements: Facilities Operations Staff must have good interpersonal communication, organizational and customer service skills, and the ability to respond to students and staff in a positive manner.  He/she must be detail-oriented, be willing to work as a team member, and be able to perform physical labor such as cleaning and lifting (up to 50 lbs).  The employees must maintain a 2.0 GPA throughout  employment.

Summer Housing Assistant Positions

The Summer Housing Assistant serves on a staff of eight, supervised by a team of professional staff, assisting in the administration of summer camps, conferences, summer guest housing, and summer student housing at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay.  This responsibility includes providing staffing for the camp and conference housing operation including but not limited to: serving as a Resident Assistant in an assigned building, check-ins and check-outs, providing guest services, serving in an on-call and on-duty capacity, and providing guest services.
