The Cofrin Library has several journals which have important articles on archeology. These journals, found on the fourth floor of the Library, include:
American Anthropologist, 1979-present (earlier volumes on JSTOR)
American Antiquity, 1968-present -- the premier archeological journal in the country (earlier volumes on JSTOR)
Archaeology, 1964-1995 -- a well-illustrated popular magazine
Antiquity, 1960-present – entertaining European archeology journal – cartoons, even
Current Anthropology, 1979-present (earlier volumes on JSTOR)
Journal of Human Evolution, 1972-present
Plains Anthropologist, 1969-present
Wisconsin Archeologist, 1903-present -- the oldest continuously published state archeology
magazine

Using the Cofrin Library Catalog
If you, like me, find browsing in the on-line catalog difficult, the following information might help you.
Books on archeological methods and theories are found under the letters CC on the 6th floor of the Cofrin Library. Also on the 6 th floor are books on the ancient Near East (DS 56), ancient China (DS 715), ancient Greece and Rome (DE and DF), ancient Egypt (DT 85-92), Native American archeology (E 59-78) and anthropological archeology (GN 720-885). Information on fossils including hominids can be found on the 5th floor under QE 881-882. Information on the Ice Age is also on the 5th floor under QE 735-763.
There are many more topics that apply to archeology, and journals that have articles on archeology in them, but I leave those to you to find!
