Teaching Science in the Middle / Secondary School (EDUC 314)
If you need help with your research please do not hesitate to contact a Reference Department at the Cofrin Library. You can reach us by phone at 465-2303. Of course please stop by the reference desk on the third floor (reference desk hours) if you are working in the library and have questions.
Books and Materials in the Instructional Media Collection
Searching the Cofrin Library Catalog
Limit to the IMC collection and do a keyword search for "science" and teaching to retrieve call numbers to over 400 books and other items (many in the instructional media collection on the 4th floor of the library) that may be of interest and are owned by the Cofrin Library.
Journals
owned by the Cofrin Library
All journals and magazines are located in the periodical area on the
library's fourth floor. They are arranged in alphabetical order by
the first letter of the first word. Note that a couple of the journals
listed below are available online in full text. All of the journals
can be searched using Academic Search Premier from EbscoHost/ ERIC. This is useful
to pinpoint an article on your topic in a print only journal with
a keyword search, instead of having to flip through all of the issues.

Lesson Planning Activity
A good lesson plan should have several components, it is not simply the presentation of an activity. One must consider the purpose of the activity, the audience, the context, the learning objectives, how it addresses a diversity of learners, how you will assess the activity, etc.
