Accessing International and Foreign
Language Newspapers
The library subscribes to a few international newspapers in print, but the vast majority are electronic and available through one of two databases. Below are the names of those databases and step by step directions for accessing international and foreign language newspapers.

Click HERE to access Lexis Nexis Academic and follow the directions below.
1. Select the Guided News Search

2. Select "Non-English Language News" from the "Select a news category" menu.

3. Select one of the 6 languages from the "Select a news source" menu. Once a language is selected you can click on the "Source List" link to view what publications are included.

4. Note that the default date range is "Previous six months." Select the down arrow to select from a number of time frames. Note also that you can enter a title to search within one newspaper.

Although Lexis Nexis is the best source for international and foreign language newspapers, you may also want to try your search in ProQuest Newspapers. ProQuest does not contain foreigh language sources, but it does contain many international publications written in English.
Click HERE to access ProQuest Newsapapers and follow the directions below.
1. Use the "Basic" search to search the full text of all publications, both international and national.
2. Select the "Publications" tab to view an A-Z list of included publications, or do a publication search.

3. Use the "Advanced" search to search within a specific included publication.
