Distance Education
Media Services provides support for compressed video and satellite conferences using facilities in the Instructional Services building and Mary Ann Cofrin Hall. Media Services also provides audiographics technologies. There are costs associated with the use of these facilities.
Video Conferencing Rates & Support:
UW-Green Bay adheres to the general
University of Wisconsin System guidelines for institutional and public use of
our videoconferencing facilities.
Type of User Billing Rate
All UW Institutions $15.00 per hour
State of Wisconsin, K-12, public or non-profit agencies $30.00 per hour
Outside private agencies and groups $150.00 per hour
Notes:
- Bridge charges of $15.00 per hour per site for multi-point sessions originated
by UWC.
- Line charges of $22 per hour for each site on STS (State Telephone System)
and $32/hour
for each site not on STS originated by UWC. - Pre/Post room usage charge
of $35.00 will be applied for outside agencies.
- Invoicing will be on scheduled time rather than actual use.
- Notification of cancelled events must occur 48 hours prior to the event.
- Outside agency cancellations within 48 hrs. prior to the event will result in a $75.00 charge.

Distance Education Room Listings:

Above - Distance Education Room, Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, Room 137
- Mary Ann Cofrin hall room 137 is a 40-seat distance education classroom with both theater style and round table seating. A Polycom VS 4000 is interconnected with an AMX control system in order to provide an intuitive faculty workstation. A one microphone to every two students configuration is provided for spontaneous interaction with the far end site(s). Currently the room is capable of both IP and ISDN connections.

Mary Ann Cofrin hall room 133 is a 7-seat, video conferencing room equipped with a Polycom 512. The room is certified through Kinkos and UW Extension's Pyle Center in Madison. http://conferencing.uwex.edu/pyle.cfm. Currently the room capable both of the IP and ISDN connections.

- Instructional Services room 1034 is a 40-seat classroom converted into a distance education classroom. A Polycom VSX 7000e serves as both the control system and the IP codec. Ceiling mount microphones evenly pick up the audio throughout the room.
