6. BUDGET/Use of Funds:
Budget which describes in detail the use of the funds for the proposed project, then estimate the total project costs (directs costs only), and other contributor(s) and their contributed match amount(s) in the following format::

 *Matching funds are required, ranging from 50% for on-going programs- i.e., beyond the second year – to 25% for new, innovative programs or those having significant legacy use. Indicate the source of match. Overhead (or Indirect Costs) cannot exceed ½ of the required matching fund requirement.

Check for clarity. Note: NASA (we are a NASA-funded organization) does not accept the purchase of capital items as reasonable use of funds unless they are specifically needed by the project. Astronaut or other NASA personnel visits cannot be funded. Field trips will only be considered as a minor component of a project, and only if they are necessary to the project goals.

7. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Goals of your new project or the enhancement of an existing project, how it fits into your organization’s scope, and the value of the project to the participants/recipients including the effectiveness of the project for recruiting/retaining promising students in STEM fields. State how your goals align with the goals of the Special Initiatives Program. Specifically state how the project will do one or more of the following for members of underrepresented groups:
    • Increase knowledge of space, aerospace, and space-related science, design, or technology and their potential benefits
    • Increase interest, recruitment, experience, and training of the next generation of experts in the pursuit of space- or aerospace-related science, design, or technology
    • Encourage individuals in space-related pursuits

Detail how this project aligns with the goals of one or more NASA Directorates or Centers. Because the WSGC is required to demonstrate the alignment of each of our projects with NASA Directorate or Center goals, proposals that do not demonstrate such alignment will not be funded. If this proposal focuses on pre-college education, state how the proposal ties with national or state education standards for science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics.

General Information:
It is important that you keep information on the history of any existing project separate from what you propose for funding. Although some weight will be given to your entire project history, the majority of the evaluation will be based on the current proposal before us.
