WHAT IS THE RESULT OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE MENOMINEE COMMUNITY

Virginia - My response is regarding higher education as it relates to Menominees who enter continuing education programs after receiveing a high school diploma or GED. First, I think that CMN is the best thing that has happened to our Tribe since 1993. It has helped to create an awareness of opportunities for advancing individuals from entry level positions. It has helped increase self-esteem of those who have completed their first step in their venture in the education arena by achieving a certificate, diploma or AA degree. This motivates many to continue on to the next level.

WHAT IS SERVED BY THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MENOMINEE (Community, CMN, High School, etc.) AND UWGB?

Virginia - The relationship between UWGB and CMN enriches the university's efforts to diversify the student body when students from CMN transfer to Green Bay. Articulation between the two schools enables CMN to provide broader base of program options for students. Institutions of higher learning are obligated to provide service to students in their quest for education and in doing so also serve the communities these students originate from; therefore the benefits are far-reaching. Especially if the students return to their communities when they achieve their degrees.
