Outreach and Adult Access

Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

UW-Green Bay is proud to announce a new bachelor’s degree designed for Wisconsin Technical College System graduates with an applied associate degree. This innovative new degree, the Bachelor of Applied Studies, is designed to help those with applied associate degrees from a Wisconsin Technical College or from other regionally-accredited schools, in-state or out-of-state, complete a bachelor’s degree through UW-Green Bay’s Adult Degree Program.

The BAS offers a curriculum of liberal learning as a complement to those with a technical college education. It will expand their horizons, help them see the world in new ways, enhance their earning power, and increase their professional potential. It also will honor and build on the learning and education that has taken place previously in Wisconsin’s public technical colleges.

A UW degree for working adults

The Adult Degree Program is designed to meet the needs of working adults who wish to earn their bachelor’s degree, but find it difficult or impossible to do so at traditional times. Featuring a major in Interdisciplinary Studies, this flexible degree program has applications throughout the marketplace, with graduates placed at all levels of business and industry, non-profit, government, education, law enforcement, and other high-demand fields.

A UW degree that is accessible

With classes offered on weekends and on the internet, this program is unique in Wisconsin and offers students the chance to take classes on Saturday mornings or afternoons at UW-Green Bay and at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, as well as through the Internet. Ease of access means that busy adults can earn a University of Wisconsin bachelor’s degree, and can do it in a way that allows them to maintain work and family responsibilities.

A UW degree that is valuable

The unique structure of the BAS degree allows students to focus the degree in exactly the area that is most valuable to them and to employers in various fields. Students in the BAS program each select an Area of Emphasis where they shape the degree to meet their needs. Areas of Emphasis in the program could include but are not limited to:

  • Emergency Management
  • Organizational Communication
  • Self-Directed Area of Emphasis, including:
    • Human Development
    • Business (Marketing, Management, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources)
