More Options for Current Students:

Individuals interested in applying to the Adult Degree Program should:

  1. Complete the Adult Degree Program application.

Download the application here in “portable document format” (PDF).

Sign, date, and return the completed application, cover letter, and application fee (if applicable) to the Adult Degree Program.

  2. Request transcripts to be sent to UW-Green Bay Office of Admissions

If applicant has no college experience, (s)he must be a graduate of a recognized high school or its equivalent. Applicants who hold General Education Development (GED) diplomas must have an official score report for the GED and a partial transcript from any regular high school they attended.

If applicant has some college experience, (s)he is considered a transfer student. A transfer student must request that official transcripts be sent directly to UW-Green Bay from all schools attended since high school graduation.

If you wish to speak with someone regarding the Adult Degree Program application process, contact the Adult Degree Program office at 920-465-2423 or, toll free, 1-800-621-2313.

2. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY APPLICATION TO BE PROCESSED?

It normally takes four to eight weeks to process an application. The time it takes is largely dependent upon the speed in which an applicant’s previous schools of attendance submit official transcripts to UW-Green Bay’s Office of Admissions (a process initiated by the applicant).

If you wish to speak with someone regarding your application status, contact the Office of Admissions at 920-465-2111.

3. HOW WILL I KNOW IF I AM ACCEPTED?

Applicants will be notified by mail of their admission status approximately four to eight weeks after submitting application materials.

Accepted applicants will be instructed to wait for an official credit evaluation to be completed by the Registrar’s Office. Once the credit evaluation has been completed, students are directed to contact their assigned advisor (identified in the acceptance letter) to schedule an “Enrollment Session.” This two-hour, face-to-face meeting is scheduled to orient new students to the Adult Degree Program, review the degree requirements, and enroll in initial courses.

If you wish to speak with someone regarding your application status, contact the Office of Admissions at 920-465-2111.

4. IN WHAT FORMATS ARE YOUR COURSES DELIVERED?

The Adult Degree Program offers courses in two primary formats:

  1. Saturday Courses: The majority of our courses are conducted on Saturdays on the UW-Green Bay campus. These face-to-face courses typically meet at least twice or as many as six times from 9:00am to 12:00 noon (AM classes) or 1:00pm to 4:00pm (PM classes) over a 16-week period. Students work independently on class assignments between meetings.

In many cases, our Saturday courses have been designated as “web-enhanced” because parts of the course may also be conducted online, with course materials, discussion areas, assignments, and even exams being made available on the internet.

  2. Internet Courses: Courses classified as Internet courses are conducted entirely on the internet (you log on at times of your choosing). They are structured with discussions, assignments, exams, and other activities which are due regularly over a 16-week period.

Note that students are not able to complete our program entirely with Saturday courses, or entirely over the internet. Any student active in our program will need to complete both Saturday and Internet courses in order to fulfill the degree requirements for the Interdisciplinary Studies major.

If you wish to speak with someone regarding the course formats, contact the Adult Degree Program office at 920-465-2423 or, toll free, 1-800-621-2313.

5. WHAT COURSES DO YOU OFFER?

The Adult Degree Program offers a wide variety of courses during the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.

Timetable: An Interdisciplinary Studies timetable is published each semester that includes descriptions of the courses being offered, as well as the days and times they will be conducted. Timetables for upcoming semesters can be found at the following links:

Course Planning Guide: Course planning guides are also published for each academic year and are helpful for long-term planning. Electronic copies of course planning guides may be downloaded in PDF format from the following links:

Course Master List: A master list of all courses offered through the Adult Degree Program can be found at the link below. This list contains a description of each course, the date it was last offered, and a copy of the most recent syllabus (if available).

6. HOW DO I DECIDE WHICH COURSES TO ENROLL IN?

Students may purchase their textbooks and other study materials online from the UW-Green Bay University Bookstore at: http://www.thephoenixbookstore.com.

Click on “TEXTBOOK ORDERING <> DEPARTMENT <> COURSE” to find the required materials for a given course.

If preferred, students may also visit the bookstore in person to purchase their course materials.

9. HOW DO I SET UP A PROCTOR FOR MY COURSE EXAMS?

Instructors who teach Saturday courses for the Adult Degree Program typically do not take class time to administer exams. Instead, they will ask that students complete their exams outside of class under the supervision of an approved proctor.

There are two ways in which students can set up an approved proctor for their course exams:

  1. Students can make an appointment to complete an exam within the Adult Degree Program office area in Mary Ann Cofrin Hall. In this way, a staff member within the Adult Degree Program serves as your approved proctor.

To schedule an exam for completion within the Adult Degree Program office area, send an email to adultdegrees@uwgb.edu with your exam request one to two weeks prior to your exam date. Your email should contain the following information:

      a. Name
      b. Course (e.g., MATH 101)
      c. Exam Title (e.g., Exam 1; Midterm Exam)
      d. Date and Time (Friday, May 26th, at 1:00pm)

You will receive a confirmation email from the Adult Degree Program office confirming your scheduled exam appointment.

  2. Students can arrange to have a proctor approved outside of the UW-Green Bay campus area. A Proctor Approval Form must be completed and submitted to the Adult Degree Program office for review (as early as possible). If a proctor (e.g., local librarian, teacher, office manager, etc.) is approved, the student will receive confirmation of this from the Adult Degree Program office via mail.

To schedule an exam for completion through an approved, off-campus proctor, send an email to adultdegrees@uwgb.edu with your exam request one to two weeks prior to your exam date. Your email should contain the following information:

    a. Name
    b. Course (e.g., MATH 101)
    c. Exam Title (e.g., Exam 1; Midterm Exam)
    d. Name of Proctor

You will receive a confirmation email from the Adult Degree Program office confirming that you exam has been sent to your approved proctor.

If you wish to speak with someone regarding the administration or proctoring of exams outside of class, please call the Adult Degree Program office at 920-465-2423 or, toll free, 1-800-621-2313.
