The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay welcomes and encourages gifts to
establish or increase endowments. Endowments are permanent assets which
are invested to provide both current and future revenue streams to support
the academic mission of the University. Endowments can be established
to provide financial support for scholarships, professorships, academic
programs, athletic and performing arts programs, and more. (Click

Here are the University's four major endowments:
The University
Education Endowment
State funds provide the base for the University's
commitment to the continued development of "The
Green Bay Idea" of a wholly educated person and
lifelong learner. However, it is private support through
gifts to the University Education Endowment that gives
the University the capability of enhancing and setting
apart the Green Bay learning experience. The University
Education Endowment provides capital for the University
to fund essential programs and activities that enhance
the learning environment such as fellowships,
research projects, technology initiatives and more.
The Academic Excellence
Scholarship Endowment
The Academic Excellence Scholarship Endowment encompasses
all named scholarship endowments, some of which have been
in existence since the University opened its doors in
1969. The Academic Excellence Scholarship program
provides funds for scholarships based on demonstrated
academic or extra-curricular excellence, financial need,
leadership skills and more. This scholarship program
enables students to be enriched by the University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay learning experience preparing
students to join the ranks of the more than 18,000
University of Wisconsin-Green Bay alumni as excellent
critical thinkers and problem solvers, active and engaged
citizens, and effective communicators. Check out a listing of Endowed
Scholarships.
The Athletic Endowment
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay boasts one of the
most nationally recognized mid-level NCAA Division I
athletic programs in the country. Gifts to the Athletic
Endowment help support the University's 15 men's and
women's Phoenix teams in their quest for excellence. The
costs associated with a Division I athletic program are
significant and the Athletic Endowment provides much
needed funding for recruiting, travel, equipment and much
more. Gifts to the endowment help ensure that Fighting
Phoenix athletes and teams will continue to bring
recognition and entertainment to the University and
Northeast Wisconsin.
The Weidner Center for
the Performing Arts Endowment
The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts provides a
great resource for cultural enrichment for Northeastern
Wisconsin, bringing outstanding entertainment and
programs to the area. This endowment ensures the Edward
W. Weidner Center for the Performing Arts will continue
to bring world-class performing artists to a world-class
facility, support educational programs for school
children as well as adults, and help keep Weidner Center
ticket prices affordable.
