Academic Advising

Faculty Advisor

Faculty advisors are “specialists” in a selected major and/or minor. They are professors and researchers with a detailed understanding of major requirements and connection to the field in which they teach. Students don’t have to be declared to meet with a faculty advisor when they are exploring majors.

Specifically, how can my Faculty Advisor help me?

  • Specific Questions Regarding Your Major or Minor Classes
  • Substitutions Within Your Major
  • Career Questions About What You Can Do With a Major
  • Specific Questions About a Major
  • Course Planning (in what sequence you should take your classes)
  • Internship and Independent Study Assistance
