WHO IS MY ADVISOR?
All new freshmen are assigned to an advisor in the Academic Advising Office.
You may work with your assigned advisor or another advisor in
the office. To find your advisor’s name go to the Student
Info System and log in with your user ID and
password; click on Academics and then "View My Advisors".
If you have questions about a specific program of study you may consult with the faculty
advisor for that area.
WHO CAN HELP ME SELECT CLASSES?
You are strongly encouraged to consult with your advisor prior to registration. Better planning on your part means
an easier road to graduation!
HOW MANY CREDITS CAN I TAKE A SEMESTER?
Students may enroll in up to 18 credits. However, it is important to carefully consider your credit load since the
average freshmen is recommended to enroll in no more than 16 credits. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12

NEED HELP CHOOSING A MAJOR?
It’s never too early to start researching what major(s) are right for you. Some of the following services are
available to assist you with major exploration:
- MajorTopia can help you explore various UW-Green Bay majors and helps answer the question WHAT CAN I DO WITH A MAJOR IN? Also, it’s important to remember that your major doesn’t necessarily determine your career path.
- You are also encouraged to make an appointment with Career Services.
- Lastly, don’t forget about the Majors Fair that takes place in February. This is your chance to talk with faculty regarding majors/minors in the various disciplines.
WHEN DO I NEED TO DECLARE MY MAJOR?
All students must be officially declared by the time they earn 62 credits. Once declared, you will be assigned to a
faculty advisor who will assist you with your major requirements.
HOW DO I DECLARE MY MAJOR?
You must complete an Official
Declaration of Degree Plan form and have it signed by either the chair of the department
or faculty advisor. Return the completed form to the Office of the Registrar.
