OVERVIEW OF FINANCE:
The study of Finance includes areas of investment principles, financial planning & management, corporate financial management, and banking. Remember that Finance is not a major entirely by itself. Be wary of the timing in taking courses, so as to avoid not being able to graduate in 4 years.

WHO SHOULD HAVE THIS EMPHASIS :
Students who are interested in gathering and analyzing quantitative data, are good at math and statistics, enjoy logic, and have good communication skills will be interested in the Finance major.
WHAT’S UNIQUE ABOUT THIS EMPHASIS AT UW-GREEN BAY:

DEDICATION. Faculty are committed to serving the needs of business and society and to providing an outstanding learning environment. Excellent teaching and high levels of student participation are valued. Upper-level classes frequently number fewer than 35 students, facilitating discussion and allowing close work with faculty.

APPLICATION. A distinctive feature of the program is that the majority of upper-level courses include a practical project component, offering the opportunity to apply the problem-solving theories and concepts learned in the classroom to real situations. Alumni say these experiences increase their value to employers and set them apart from traditional business program graduates.

TOOLS YOU NEED FOR SUCCESS. The program provides considerable exposure to the liberal arts and develops the critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal, communication, quantitative and computer skills needed by graduates to successfully serve as leaders within modern organizations.

HOT TOPICS. The program also addresses contemporary organizational issues in specific classes and throughout the curriculum, such as hot news topics, global competition, social responsibility and ethics, and the relationship between finance and various environmental forces.
