• STRICT PROBATION
What is strict probation?
Strict probation occurs when the following conditions exist: you begin your second
consecutive semester of probation AND your cumulative grade point average falls between
1.0 and 1.99.
What will happen if I cannot raise my cumulative GPA above a 2.0 after one semester of
strict probation?
You will be suspended for a minimum of one academic semester. (Note: Suspension will occur
anytime your cumulative GPA falls below 1.0.)
Will strict probation affect my registration?
During the registration period, you are strongly recommended to register for a maximum of
13 credits in fall or spring and 6 credits in the summer term. It is vital that you select
courses that will yield the greatest potential for success.
How can I check my current academic status?
Check your degree progress report on the Student Information System. When you sign in on
SIS, click Academics and then View Degree Progress Report. Your academic standing will be
displayed below your last semester courses.
How can I return to good standing?
Earn a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or better to return to good standing. Repeating D/F grades
is an effective strategy for accelerating your return to good standing.
Are there resources to help me earn my way back into good standing?
