Less than 10% of the 346 Division I athletic directors are women. Mary Ellen Gillespie is the 28th female selected to lead a Division I athletics department. Mary Ellen will spend time sharing the journey to the “chair” in a very male dominated profession, what it’s like to sit in the “chair” in her first year and will share the importance of the role that Division I athletics plays in both the university and the community.

Stay for the Game
The evening of her talk, Mary Ellen will bring free tickets to hand out to all attendees for the Phoenix Women's Basketball exhibition game against UW-Oshkosh at 7 p.m. at the Kress Events Center that same night! All are encouraged to head over after After Thoughts to catch the game.
