This marks the first issue of the UW-Green Bay @lumni newsletter. This
monthly publication will highlight alumni activities, events, class notes
and campus happenings. If you would like to receive the newsletter at

UW-Green Bay Launches
New Alumni Website
UW-Green Bay and the UW-Green Bay Alumni Association have joined forces
to create a new alumni website. The new site contains on-line class notes,
volunteer opportunities, alumni awards, lost alumni, alumni update forms

UW-Green Bay Visits Fox Cities
UW-Green Bay recently headed south to UW-Fox Valley for the 1st Annual Fox Cities Regional Reception. The November 6 event for alumni and donors, featured remarks by Chancellor Bruce Shepard and new men's basketball coach Tod Kowalczyk, among others. The evening allowed UW-Green Bay faculty and staff a chance to update alumni on what's new on campus. Speaking of Class
We have expanded the class notes section of Inside UW-Green Bay magazine
and created an on-line class notes section as well. Now all we need is
your news! If you have a new job, received a promotion, just got married, had a baby, received special
recognition or just have some news, go on-line to our website or e-mail
it to email@example.com.
Alumni Award Call for Nominations
The Alumni Association is currently seeking nominations for the 2002 Distinguished
Alumni Award. Eligible candidates include living graduates who hold either
an undergraduate or graduate degree from UW-Green Bay. Selection criteria
accomplishments in their field.
Civic responsibility and contributions to their community.
Continuing interest in the University.
Highest integrity in professional, public and personal relations.

Shoe Tree is Back
For those of you who may have missed it, a strong summer storm knocked
down one of UW-Green Bay's oldest traditions...the Shoe Tree. But have
no fear...the Shoe Tree is back and better than ever. Thanks to the hard
work of several students and staffers, a new tree was dedicated earlier
this month near the Ecumenical Center. For more on the story, click on

Join us we recognize the recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award,
Distinguished Service Awards, and Honorary Alumnus Award.
Pieschek '89, Green Bay area public relations expert and business ethicist,
has been invited to present her seminar, "ETHICS: The Best PR Money
Can't Buy" to the Public Relation's Society of America's International
Conference in San Francisco. She earned her degree in philosophy from UW-Green
Lisa Panure '97, is in her first year of the master's program
at Indiana University where she is working toward a degree in public administration
with an emphasis in non-profit management. She is employed with Conseco
and received her degree from UW-Green Bay in social change and development.
Cory Zibung '01, surveyor and CADD technician, has joined Mead
& Hunt Engineers, Architects, Scientists and Planners, Green Bay.
He is experienced in operating total stations, data collectors, transits
and levels for airport, highway and public utility projects. He also has
experience in air photo interpretation GIS, environmental planning and
environmental impact analysis. He earned his degree in environmental policy
