Jason F. Hellwig
After graduating from UW-Green Bay, Jason Hellwig went on to earn a master’s degree in International Relations at The London School of Economics and Political Science. In 2000, he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison. In September of 2000, he joined Winston & Strawn LLP in New York and has been a partner in the corporate department since 2008. In his role there, he has worked on transactions valued at more than $4.5 billion for many of the major investment banks and several of the largest insurance companies and pension funds in the U.S. He also has significant experience in project and lease finance. Hellwig has extensive experience in multiple aspects of structured finance, including credit-linked notes, securitizations and like-kind exchanges. On a personal note, Hellwig has also successfully represented, on a pro bono basis, a Tibetan refugee in his application for political asylum in the U.S., and an organization that promotes community credit unions in some of New York’s low income neighborhoods.
