Gary Garriott,

Distinguished Alumni Award
Gary Garriott is the director of informatics for Volunteers in Technical Assistance (VITA) in Arlington, Virginia. Garriott’s career effort has been to provide communications technology enabling the rural poor to improve their lives. His projects have reached Tanzanian and Honduras. He is also working with a project called the Warning and Recovery Network (WARN), which would help to plan for and react to natural disasters worldwide.
