What are the dates for AMSLC?

The 30th annual American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference is set for the evening of Friday, April 4, 2014 and all-day Saturday, April 5, 2014.

Where to register for the conference?

Individual and/or group registration can be completed at the registration website, please check here. The early bird registration is $125 and ends on Friday, February 14, 2014. Any registrations received after February 15, 2014 will be charged the general registration of $150. Registration will close on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 4:30pm. There will be no on-site registration.

How do I sign up if I would like to do a student presentation?

Student participants are to submit their presentation on the Abstract Submission website. The last day for submission is Friday, January 31, 2014.

Is there a dress code for the 30th AMSLC?

The American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference (AMSLC) is an excellent opportunity for its college student participants to learn and share. We ask that students dress business causal on Saturday. Participant dress should contribute to the positive learning at AMSLC.

Do I need to bring money to AMSLC?

UW-Green Bay will be providing Friday dinner, and breakfast, lunch, break snack/refreshments and dinner on Saturday. Participants will be responsible for their own expenses.

Where is the UW-Green Bay campus?

The official UW-Green Bay campus address is 2420 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay, WI, 54311. The conference will take place within two buildings: University Union and Theater Hall. For maps, click here

How far is UW-Green Bay campus from the Ramada Plaza Green Bay?

Ramada Plaza Green Bay is the official conference lodging site. The address is 2750 Ramada Way, Green Bay, WI 54304. It is less than 15 miles from the UW-Green Bay campus. Where should participants park at UW-Green Bay?

It is recommended that all our guests park either in the Campus Court or Kress Center parking lots. The majority of the conference will be held in the University Union. Click here for maps Parking permits are not enforced on Friday after 4:30pm and Saturday parking does not require a parking permit.

What meals will be served at the conference?

Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided by the campus’ contracted food service company, A’viands. Dietary food limitations will be accommodated if identified on the participation’s registration.

Where are the gender neutral bathrooms?

Gender neutral bathrooms are located in the University Union on the main ground floor. Additional gender neutral bathrooms are located on the 1st floor of the David A. Cofrin Library, the 3rd floor of the Environmental Sciences building, all floors in L.G. Wood Hall, and the 3rd floor of John M. Rose Hall.

Are there on-campus health services during the conference?

UW-Green Bay Counseling and Health Center will not be available during the conference. If medical/health services are needed, the local hospitals are:

What is the drug/alcohol policy?

The American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference (AMSLC) is an alcohol and drug free conference. Participants agree to abide by the AMSLC 2014 conference policy regarding alcohol, tobacco, drugs and damages.

  • Law enforcement will be called for any suspected use of alcohol or drugs by conference participants; such behavior will likely result in immediate removal from the conference; and
  • Damages incurred by the violator will be his/her financial responsibility.

What is the smoking policy on the UW-Green Bay campus?

Pursuant to University of Wisconsin - Green Bay policy, smoking is prohibited in all state owned campus vehicles and within 30 feet of the following academic building entrances:

  • North entrance (handicapped, dock) to Student Services;
  • East entrance (headed towards the Phoenix Sports Center) and the west entrance [headed towards the circle and Main Entrance Drive (by Credit Union)] of the plaza (level 2) of the Cofrin Library;
  • North entrance to Mary Ann Cofrin Hall
  • Southwest entrance to the concourse (level 1) of the Cofrin Library, next to the Garden Cafe

No person may smoke in any university building, except in those areas designated for that purpose. We ask for your cooperation by not smoking at or within 30 feet of these entrances.

Where is the lactation station?

UW-Green Bay has one lactation room. It is intended for students, faculty, staff and visitors who may like a quiet space for feeding or a place to pump breast milk. The private room adjoins the women’s restroom on the third floor of Rose Hall, RH 324, between the offices for the Professional Programs in Nursing and Social Work. The room is complete with a rocker/glider and ottoman, a changing station (there is also a second one in a gender neutral restroom next door), artwork from the campus collection, reading materials and various hygiene supplies.
