The Art Discipline at UW-Green Bay attempts
to exemplify the essential interdisciplinary focus of
our campus with its broad approach to art subject matter,
process and creative outcome. The visual arts have been
important components of human experience around the
world for millennia. The visual arts provide a means
of articulating and understanding that experience through
processes of seeing, making and thinking in visual terms.
In a world where our accesses to information, education,
entertainment and politics are increasingly mediated,
the visual arts provide the skills necessary for an
informed understanding and an effective expression of
that human experience.
Look through our areas of study for the Art Major emphases
in Studio Art, Art Education, and Gallery & Museum
Practices and the Art Minor emphases in 2-D, 3-D, and
Art History and then make an appointment with the chair
of art to visit our studio facilities and discuss how
our program will work for you.
