Arts management – a proud Wisconsin tradition

The arts management program at UWGB follows in the pioneering tradition started by Robert Gard at the University of Wisconsin in the 1960s. We are the fourth UW-system school to institute an arts management program and the only program in Wisconsin that is specifically designed as an interdisciplinary minor.

We believe, as Gard did, that the arts are important everywhere, not just in big cities, and that the arts are an integral part of community life which affect not just entertainment but economic development, tourism, and community identity.

Unique resources connect learning to life

Arts management students have the opportunity to put their knowledge into action right on the University campus, working to help promote and organize events in the University setting. The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, one of the country’s leading performing arts centers, offers internship and job possibilities as well as opportunities to meet and learn from visiting touring performers.

UWGB is also the only school in Wisconsin that offers art majors the opportunity to pair arts management with gallery/museum studies, which prepares students for careers as curators in art museums and galleries.

For more information on the arts management program, contact Ellen Rosewall, Assistant Professor of Arts Management, at HYPERLINK "mailto:rosewale@uwgb.edu" rosewale@uwgb.edu.
