Internet GIS Servers

An interesting alternative to storing datasets on local and network hard drives is the use of GIS data servers that allow dynamic connections to remotely-stored data across the Internet.
To connect to one of these services from ArcGIS, users need to click on "Add Data", then click on "GIS Servers", then pick a service type and paste the service URL (from table below) into the displayed dialogue box.
