• OBSERVING CHANGE •
We often employ geospatial technology tools for observing change.
A Picture Is Worth....
We've been experimenting with ways to use our image library to support classroom learning, research and management activities. In the summer of 2013 we put together several webpages that utilize sequences of orthoimagery and Landsat images to illustrate how some sites we care about have changed over time.
True-Color Composite Images Derived From Landsat Scenes
There are dozens of complex analytical methods that employ Landsat data to achieve particular research objectives. Sometimes, however, just seeing how a site would have looked to the human eye at a particular time tells us a lot. So-called "true color composite image" can approximate this, so we like to use them when we're studying change. We've made up quite a few and stored them in the data library along with the Landsat scenes that they are derived from. more info
