21. Neshota Park

General Description

summer wild flowers at Neshota parkNeshota Park includes a length of the Neshota River and one of its tributaries, and the forests and clearings on both sides of the river. The total area is approximately 260 acres, including areas of deciduous swamp, mesic forests on river terraces and early successional forests and old fields. A system of paths ranges throughout the property. There are good spring wildflower displays and a broad selection of birding opportunities.

Facilities

In addition to the natural features noted above, there is a picnic area and shelter, a playground and hiking, and horse trails. In the winter about seven miles of cross-country trails are maintained. The park also provides access to the county snowmobile trail system. A small sledding hill and shelter building is open during weekends.

Directions

From Green Bay, take Hwy I-43 (or Hwy 141) south toHwy 29, go east to Hwy T and south to Park Road. Approximately 15 miles from Green Bay's east side.
