Students will be assessed resident or non-resident tuition for distance education and off-campus courses according to UW System policy for on-campus courses. In other words, if you are not a WI resident and are taking an internet course only, you will be charged non-resident fees, just like if you were taking on-campus classes.
Segregated fees should be assessed for all courses (up to the approved maximum for graduate and undergraduate courses in a given semester) if a student is registered for at least 1 (one) on-campus course.
Segregated fees should not be assessed if a student is only registered for distance educaiotn and/or off-campus courses.
A distance education course is defined as one in which 75 percent or more of the instruction and interaction takes place through a non face-to-face modality. Distance education courses include those that employ correspondence study, or audio, video or computer technologies.
*Distance Education Course Fee - Effective the Fall 2011 semester a course fee of $20.00 per credit will be assessed for all distance education courses. These funds will be used to (1) cover the costs associated with purchasing and maintaining the software that is used to develop and deliver distance education courses; (2) offset the costs of staffing the University's Help Desk and other student support services; and (3) provide specialized training to faculty and teaching academic staff who develop and deliver distance education courses.
Master of Social Work students pay an additional $100 facility fee.
For information regarding academic policies and procedures please contact the Registrar's Office.
Any student who enrolls in a course for graduate credit or with a graduate student classification will be required to pay graduate level fees for all credits.
Midwest Student Exchange Program
A special tuition rate given to students residing in states participating in the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP). For more information contact the Registrar's Office or visit the Midwest Higher Education Compact website at www.MHEC.org
