Credits - between twelve (12) and eighteen (18) credits is considered the tuition plateau. Effective Fall 2012, all on-campus, distance education (internet) and off-campus credits count toward the tuition plateau. January Interim credits will be assessed outside of the tuition plateau.

Students are assessed resident or non-resident tuition as applicable for on-campus, distance education (internet) and off-campus courses. If you are not a WI resident and are taking an internet course only, you will be charged non-resident tuition.

Segregated fees are assessed for ALL credits (up to a maximum of 12 credits for undergraduate students) if a student is registered for ANY on-campus credits. Segregated fees are not assessed if a student is only registered for distance education (internet) and/or off-campus courses.

A distance education course is defined as one in which 75 percent or more of the instruction and interaction takes place through a non face-to-face modality. Distance education courses include those that employ correspondence study, or audio, video or computer technologies.

*Distance Education Course Fee - Effective the Fall 2011 semester a course fee of $20.00 per credit will be assessed for all distance education courses. These funds will be used to (1) cover the costs associated with purchasing and maintaining the software that is used to develop and deliver distance education courses; (2) offset the costs of staffing the University's Help Desk and other student support services; and (3) provide specialized training to faculty and teaching academic staff who develop and deliver distance education courses.

For information regarding academic policies and procedures, please contact the Registrar's Office .

Audit credits count as full value in determination of a total credit load.

If an undergraduate student receives permission to enroll for 19 or more credits, an additional charge will be assessed for EACH credit, as illustrated for the nineteenth credit above.
