Austin E. Cofrin School of Business

Business Administration Minor

Why business?

The Business minor was designed for students with a major other than Business Administration that also wanted exposure to business concepts.

The Business minor is a great opportunity for students to gain an understanding of key business concepts, thus enhancing their future in either a business or non-business organization. Examples might be students majoring in the sciences that would like to work for a private business, a not-for-profit organization or a governmental entity.

What value will I get from the business minor?

Today’s students need to be prepared for a dynamic and ever changing environment more than ever. Most students upon graduation will end up working for an entity, whether directly or indirectly that will require knowledge of business concepts. This minor will help prepare students for such a challenge. The two most significant outcomes from the minor are:

  • You will gain an understanding of core business areas as well as the underlying supporting concepts.
  • You can also select courses that will be of value to your personal growth.

What courses will I need to take?

In addition to the required core business courses, you will take courses in the supporting fields. In addition, many of these courses will satisfy some of your general education requirements.
