We are excited to announce "Business Week 2014," co-presented by the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business and Career Services at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. This year's theme is, “Global Citizenship in an Evolving World.”
In its fourth year, Business Week has proven valuable to both business leaders and students in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business. Students are able to add to their classroom learning by participating in a variety of events, all of which include community business leaders. Events such as the "Learning to Dine Like a Professional" Etiquette Lunch and "Mock Interview Day" help students to develop the interpersonal and professional acumen expected of business professionals. The "Job and Internship Fair" gives students the opportunity to stand out from the crowd and become more than just a name on a resume. Again this year there will be an "Elevator Pitch Competition & Networking Night," for which students will create a 60-second video pitching themselves and their career strengths, abilities, and goals.
The centerpiece of Business Week is the "Keynote Networking Dinner." The dinner, held on the stage of the world-renowned Weidner Center, engages business leaders and top students in an evening of conversation and learning. This year, we are fortunate to have as our keynote speaker Jim Sinegal, co-founder of Costco Wholesale Corporation. Jim is currently serving as a Director and Company Advisor since his retirement in January, 2012. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Costco Wholesale Corporation for 27 years. He was named one of Business Week’s “Best Managers” in 2013 and he was also named to Time Magazine’s 2006 list of the 100 most influential people.
Students - sign up for as many Business Week events as you can!
