Bill Lepley is an associate professor of finance for the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at UW-Green Bay. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati, an M.B.A. from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to pursuing a full-time academic career, he was a financial economist in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, and an analyst in two subsidiary banks of Community Banks, Inc. (a Wisconsin bank holding company).
Dr. Lepley's primary teaching responsibilities have been in the areas of investments, corporate finance, banking, and financial markets & institutions. Currently, he’s also serving as Chair of Business Administration at UWGB.
Most of Dr. Lepley's research has focused on bank-related issues, and especially, on risk issues in banking. He has presented his work at annual meetings of the Financial Management Association, the Midwest Finance Association, and the Academy of Finance. His work has appeared in Financial Practice and Education, the Journal of Retail Banking Services, the Journal of the Academy of Finance, and the RMA Journal (published by the Risk Management Association).
Dr. Lepley is a member of the Midwest Finance Association, the Financial Management Association, and the Financial Executives Institute. He has also served on the board of directors of a commercial bank.
