Bernd Kupka is an assistant professor of management for the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at UW-Green Bay. He earned a B.A. in communication from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 2001 and a Master’s of Science from Radford University in organizational and professional communication in 2003. In 2008, he earned a Ph.D. in management with a specialization in international human resource management from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Dr. Kupka’s teaching interests include (international) human resource management, training & development, organizational behavior, and organizational communication. All his classes have a high component of experiential education and students work as external consultants for local organizations.
Dr. Kupka’s research interests focus on all issues related to expatriation. More generally, he examines issues related to international human resource management and training & development.
Dr. Kupka is the advisor to the UWGB student chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management. He is also a member programming committee of the Green Bay chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management. Furthermore, Bernd is a member of the NEW North’s Attract & Retain Diverse Talent committee.
