Arda Ishkhanian Summer Art Studio Camp Annual Award

Arda IshkhanianArda Ishkhanian (1957-2013) was an artist and popular longtime Summer Art Studio Camp instructor at UW-Green Bay. Of Armenian descent, she was born in Egypt and attended high school in Beirut, Lebanon before immigrating to America in the late 1970s. She graduated from California College of Arts with a BFA in Film and Video, and then continued her studies in Interactive Multimedia at San Francisco State University and received her BA in Art Education from the University of Iowa. As a teacher, she shared her passion for the Arts with her students and loved to share her world experiences and introduce students to the art of other cultures. This scholarship was established in her memory to help students attend the Summer Art Studio Camps.

Apply for this Scholarship: Students, please submit this application with artwork samples.

Students must send in a letter of application stating why they want to attend the art camp and how important art is to them.  In addition students are asked to submit of letter of recommendation from their art teacher.  Preference will be given to those with a financial need.  Together, send letters of application to:

Scholarship letters must be received by June 1 in order to be considered.  All applicants will be notified by June 7 as to whether they received an award.  Apart from the award, students are encouraged to register for Summer Art Studio Camp prior to receiving the scholarship, in order to choose from the most available classes. Some classes fill, so register early.

 


 

DPI Scholarships - For Wisconsin Residents Only.

*Scholarships for all June 2014 Camps have already been distributed. Any applications that qualify at this time will be placed on a waiting list.

These DPI scholarships are financial need-based. If the student qualifies for free or reduced lunch AND has a 2.50 or higher grade point average, he/she may be eligible to receive a scholarship. All scholarships must meet this criteria. Scholarships are first come, first serve until funds are depleted.

To apply: Download and print BOTH Part 1 and Part 2 and fill out both forms completely. Also, include a copy of your child's last Report Card and a completed Summer Camp Registration form. Applications will NOT be accepted without ALL FOUR of these forms.

Once completed, please send the DPI Scholarship Part 1 and Part 2, along with a Summer Camp Registration, and a copy of your child's last Report Card to:

DO NOT send the Scholarship Form to the Madison address located on the top corner of the form. It will take your application several weeks longer to reach our office. Scholarships are given on a first come, first serve basis so this would not be in your favor.

**Application MUST be signed by a school counselor or school designee in the administration or district office to prove eligibility for free or reduced lunches. A teacher's signiture is not valid.
