X-TRA! X-TRA! Make X-BAND your NEXT band!
Why X-Band? We know of no other band camp in the region that caters to the needs of the young musician, and employs 'beginner-musician teaching specialists' to work with this clientele.
Designed for the young musician entering 6th & 7th grades, X-Band will help you expand your musical abilities. With no audition required, you will have fun and fast paced rehearsals and classes that will challenge you; all with upbeat, super-experienced instructors. Laura Robinson, of Escanaba, MI will be your conductor. Hold on tight for the best band week ever!
Note: If you are a seventh grader, with a band director's recommendation, you may opt out of the X-Band by auditioning for a chair in one of the other bands. Recommendations may be sent by email to summercamps@uwgb.edu.
Band
The Green Bay and Honors Bands feature exciting music that will be fun and challenging! You will want to share the music titles with your band teacher in fall. Rich Tengowski from Kohler School District and Scott Wright, from the University of Kentucky will be your conductors. Students will audition to get into these bands.
Choir
She's Back! You will love Amy Thiel, choral director at Oconto Falls High School. Choir students will sing in the mixed choir and in the all-camp chorus. Get ready for some very cool, contemporary songs that you will be singing the rest of the summer!
Orchestra
Ms. Palmieri is coming back with rave reviews! Valerie Palmieri, orchestra director at Western High School in Walled Lake, MI, comes with a trunk full of music (literally) that meets you at your level and takes you to musical heights you've only dreamed about. Bring your friends! You will want to share the experience!
