  • Music Technology Tools: MUS 103
    • College students, professional musicians and music educators everywhere are expected to utilize technology in nearly every aspect of their work, from the simple tasks of finding recordings online to creating and sharing videos of their music. Whereas a generation ago one could get by in a music theory class with a pencil and some manuscript paper, students now are rightly expected to turn in clean, computer-generated notation for assignments, analogous to the word-processed essays one expects in an English class. In our current major and minor course offerings, Music touches on a number of these tools without any real time devoted to them in depth. As these tools have become more integrated into all of our core courses from 100-level onward, it has become necessary to teach these materials as a separate Freshman course, ensuring that no student is left to fend for himself or herself with only the technical experiences he or she has accrued before entering college. The addition of a one-credit course devoted to technology as it is used in college music courses will better prepare our students for their work as music majors and beyond.

Cancellation and Refund

Credit outreach courses are taught contingent upon sufficient enrollment. The decision is made one week prior to the beginning date of the course. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment; in this case a full refund will be given.

Withdrawals, Refunds, and Fee Obligations

A student who desires to withdraw from all academic course work at any time after completing registration must officially withdraw. This can be accomplished by calling the Outreach Office between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday at 920-465-2775 or 1-800-621-2313. The effective date for any withdrawal or course drop will be the date that the phone call is received. Confirmation of your drop or withdrawal will be sent via email. Non-attendance of classes does not constitute an official withdrawal or course drop. Please refer to the refund schedule below to determine your fee obligation.

Once a student has submitted the College Credit @ Camp Special Student Application form or registered online, an obligation to pay fees is in effect until such time as that obligation may be reduced by an official withdrawal or reduction of the credit load. If a student is withdrawn for nonpayment of fees, or withdraws voluntarily with unpaid fees, an obligation to pay fees remains in effect.
