Career Closet: Dressing UW-Green Bay Students for Success

Coming in Spring 2018...
The Career Closet!

Career Closet at UWGB

What is the Career Closet?
Our mission is to provide free, professional attire to UW-Green Bay students in need.

Professional attire is essential when participating in an interview or attending a business event, however not every student has access to the resources that would allow them to present themselves professionally. The Career Closet provides current students with professional attire for interviews, networking events, and other occasions where they need to make a positive first impression.

What Types of Attire Does the Career Closet Provide?
New and gently used:

  • Suits
  • Dress Pants
  • Dress Shirts and Blouses
  • Suit Coats, Sport Coats, Blazers
  • Skirts
  • Dresses
  • Neckties
  • Scarves
  • Belts

Note: Availability of items will be based upon donations received by Career Services.

Closet Location and Hours:
The Career Closet is located in Career Services, Student Services Building Suite 1600. Students may visit the Closet between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Policies:
Currently enrolled students of UW-Green Bay may visit the Career Closet and select/receive up to 5 items in a given semester. Students will be asked to present their student I.D.

Donations:
Thank you for considering a donation to the Career Closet. We accept new and gently used suits, pants, dress shirts, blouses, suit/sport jackets, skirts, dresses, scarves, neckties, and belts. We ask that attire be clean and in ready-to-wear condition (no buttons missing, broken zippers, tears), and contemporary– generally purchased within the last 5 years.

Due to space, we are not able to accept shoes, jewelry, hosiery/socks or handbags.

Donations are accepted year-round and may be dropped off during regular office hours in Career Services, Student Services Building 1600, Monday – Friday from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  If you need assistance unloading items, please call our office at 920.465.2163 so we can make arrangements.

Donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided upon request. Donor is responsible for determining the value of their donation.

NOTE: If items are donated that we are not able to use in the Career Closet, we will share that donation with the Campus Cupboard & Clothes Closet (https://www.uwgb.edu/cupboard/).
