CHOICES - Career Resource Library |
|
 |
 |
The Career Resource Library offers a wide range of materials on selecting a career or major, employment projections, job requirements, salary information, as well as books on resume writing, interviewing and other job search topics.
Many resources are available for a one-week check out period for registered students, faculty and staff.
Career Information
If you are undecided about a major, it's helpful to know what jobs a major will lead you to. The materials in the Library provide job/work environment descriptions. The Occupational Outlook Handbook describes about 250 occupations--covering about 104 million jobs. Also available are occupational briefs and books specific to many majors or fields of interest as well as resources about career planning and job search strategies.
Employment Directories and Journals
Most Employment Directories are indexed by location and area of interest. These directories are helpful if you are willing to relocate or if you just want to find out "what's out there." This section also includes business journals as well as the NACE (National Association of Colleges & Employers) Salary Survey to help graduates anticipate salary offers for various majors and career fields.
Graduate School Information
Our office has a collection of graduate school catalogs in addition to the comprehensive Peterson's Guides to Graduate Schools, and resources for applying to and funding your graduate education.
Computer Work Station
Whether you wish to work on your resume, construct a cover letter or view position listings on the Internet, there are computers in the lobby of the Career Services and Advising office suites available for your use.
