WHAT IS THE PRAXIS I (PPST) AND WHY IS IT REQUIRED?
The PPST (Pre-Professional Skills Test) is a standardized test, which assesses how well you can read, write and compute. It is similar, in terms of format and types of questions, to the ACT. However, unlike the ACT, which is used for college admissions and class placement decisions, the PPST is used to determine if you have the basic academic skills necessary to function as a professional educator. The PPST is a statewide requirement for admission into all teacher education programs. It became a requirement in Wisconsin July 1, 1987.

If you have questions about the PRAXIS, please contact the Education Department at (920) 465-2137.
