General Methodology:
Each year, Career Services conducts a follow-up survey to determine the
post-graduate status of the previous year’s Bachelor’s degree candidates. In addition to providing a copy of the survey with each graduate’s diploma, attempts are made to
collect data
through e-mails, phone calls and social media. Faculty and employers are also asked to contribute their knowledge of alumni whereabouts. A final report is compiled in late spring.
As a soon-to-be or recent graduate, why should I complete the
survey?
Responding to the First Destination Survey provides feedback for Career Services, academic
departments and the University. This feedback allows us to
determine changes in the job market, the graduate degrees our alumni
pursue, and where alumni go after graduation. The information you
provide is CONFIDENTIAL -- results are not published in a
personally identifiable manner.

A Note About the Use of
Statistical Data
Although employment survey
data is often used to make career decisions, the employability
of today's college graduate is also influenced by economic
conditions and the personal traits and characteristics of the
job seeker.
Decisions about career choices should be made by the
assessment of each candidate's interests, skills and values.
Caution should also be used in any interpretation or application
of the included statistics. If you are using this report to make
career decisions, please consult with the staff in Career
Services.
