An
internship...
- Is a work experience
where you earn academic credits
- May or may not be
compensated
- Is typically 8-20 hours
of on-site work per week
- Should involve
professional activities that ideally relate to your
career field
- Must be approved and
supervised by a faculty member as well as an on-site
supervisor
Why should
I do an internship?
- To gain practical
experience while earning academic credit
- To help you in your
career by giving you first-hand occupational
information
- To improve job prospects
after graduation by giving you valuable work
experience
- To offer you contacts or
a job reference which are useful in later job
searches
