These three webinars are part of a special series designed specifically for individuals seeking government jobs and internships. Participants will hear from Partnership staff, agency recruiters, federal interns and graduates who recently received offers for federal jobs, and will learn how to best leverage their skills and experiences to find the right federal fit.

Part One: Find Your Federal Dream Job or Internship
During this webinar, we’ll share best practices for federal jobseekers including where to look for government positions, how to determine which ones are a good fit for various backgrounds and skill sets, and tips for analyzing job opportunity announcements.

Part Two: Apply for the Position that’s Right for You
In the second segment of this series, we’ll walk students and jobseekers through the federal application process. From building a federal resume to filling out questionnaires to using the Application Manager on USAJOBS.gov, we’ll break down the steps individuals need to take to complete and submit an application.

Part Three: Know Your Next Steps
Once jobseekers submit an application, their work finding a federal job or internship is far
from complete. During this session, we’ll outline the steps students must take to follow up on their federal applications, including the interview, security clearance and negotiation processes.

Legal Issues: Diversity Recruiting
Attorney Edward Easterly, a specialist in employment law, will examine the laws related to EEO and nondiscrimination, ADAA, and IRCA. You’ll learn how Title VII and ADEA affect minority-only programs and how the ADAA affects job postings, reference checks, and testing, and what accommodations are required. Students can learn about employer recruitment practices and how they need to comply with the law. Students will gain insight if they think they were discriminated against in the recruitment process.The webinar also includes time for Q&A. Informal discussion will occur onsite at UW-Green Bay following the conclusion of the webinar.  Employers from the NE Wisconsin community have been invited as well.
