The 'UW-Green Bay Primary'
The state of Wisconsin's decision to move its presidential primary to February, the city of Green Bay's position as an important media market, and large and politically engaged crowds brought a windfall of national visibility for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Four leading Democratic presidential candidates made appearances on campus. Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry (pictured below), his fellow senator and supporter Ted Kennedy and Gen. Wesley Clark
all made campaign stops on campus. Said student leader Nathanel Isaacson, who introduced the Kerry rally, "The most rewarding thing was the way it energized the students."

Green Bay's Pakistan project begins this week

Scheduled to arrive in Green Bay Saturday was a delegation of educators from Pakistan here to work with UW-Green Bay students and faculty and to study best practices in local schools. "Pakistan has suffered from several periods of instability, and education has suffered as a result," says Fritz Erickson, UW-Green Bay dean. Erickson, who toured schools (photo of class above) in Pakistan last year, says local citizens are helping facilitate the visit.
