brings highest community honors for Kuehnes, Olson Receiving
Chancellor’s Awards for distinguished service
to UW-Green Bay at December
commencement were community leaders Carl and Mary
Ellen Kuehne and former Dean of Students Gerald H.
Olson.Olson, shown at left with Provost Sue K. Hammersmith and Chancellor Bruce Shepard during the ceremony, was dean of students from 1975 through 1996. He guided development of student life facilities and services still effective today in areas of housing, counseling, campus life, conduct, recruitment, admissions and financial aid. ![]() Carl and Mary Ellen Kuehne posed for this photo (right) on the Weidner Center’s grand staircase. The Kuehnes have been generous supporters of UW-Green Bay, from the original seat-donor campaign for the Weidner Center to a recent naming-rights gift to the new Kress Events Center. They have directed additional philanthropy toward the chancellor’s scholarship fund, intercollegiate athletics and the Phuture Phoenix program. Carl, co-chairman and co-CEO of American Foods Group LLC, has been an influential advocate for University growth as a member of the Chancellor’s Council of Trustees. |

Green Bay on free TV No dish, no cable needed here! The biggest TV schedule in Phoenix basketball history will result in 10 home games being broadcast free and over the public airwaves this season. It’s all thanks to a partnership involving Green Bay Athletics and WACY-TV (MYNEW32). He served up lattes made with his home-roasted coffee beans to faculty, staff and early-rising students at the campus Common Grounds coffee shop. The lattes were compliments of the Chancellor; donations were forwarded to Paul’s Pantry. |
