 Chancellor’s Note: I give up. I have struggled for words, at times, to describe my gratitude and joy since our community fundraising campaign reached the “green-light level” to proceed with remodeling and expansion of the old Phoenix Sports Center. That’s why, with this newsletter, I will just let our students do the talking. They are the ones who will most benefit, make the largest financial contribution (through student fees), and be most delighted when the new, $32.5-million Kress Events Center opens in fall 2007. We continue to seek pledges to make the new facility all it needs to be. Having passed the $7.5 million mark in private gifts, however, we have secured the funding necessary to break ground, and we are in sight of our final goal. That’s absolutely fantastic, terrific... and... I’ll let the students (next page) tell you the rest.  |
