First-day message to campus
UW-Green Bay colleagues and friends,
It is my great honor and pleasure to join the UW-Green Bay community as interim chancellor. I look forward to working with you in service to our students, our region, and our state. Working together, we will keep moving UW-Green Bay in a positive direction and play a central role in building a bright future for Northeastern Wisconsin.
This University is a special place. It’s where I started my undergraduate education. It also provided me with my first professional opportunity. To be able to give back – to my hometown and to my alma mater – is a great privilege. I will do my very best to live up to the responsibility I have been given.
UW-Green Bay has so much momentum on which we can build. From Northeastern Wisconsin’s Growth Agenda to our expanding partnerships with other educational institutions and the business community, UW-Green Bay, under Chancellor Shepard’s leadership, has positioned itself to make extraordinary contributions to our region’s economy and quality of life. We also are fortunate to have the wisdom, experience and steady hand of Prof. Bill Laatsch in the Office of the Provost.
I look forward to meeting and talking with as many of you as I can in the coming months. Please don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail at wardd@uwgb.edu or give me a call at 465-2207. Or just stop me in the hallway and say hello.
UW-Green Bay’s strength is in its students, faculty, staff and community friends. Through a shared commitment to our campus and community, we will continue to connect learning to the life of our dynamic community, region and state.
